are planned year-round by dedicated teams of volunteers and staff members from the City of Tulsa, Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and YWCA Tulsa.
The Planning Committee leverages incredible executive leadership across Tulsa to fundraise on behalf of YWCA’s critical programming as well as plan and execute the annual Women of the Year – Pinnacle Awards gala, this year dubbed The Pearl Party. This committee ensures that each of our 10 award winners are spot-lighted and celebrated, and does the lion’s share of work in creating a memorable platform and program that honors each award winner. This year’s committee members include:
Day-of Volunteers are critical in hosting a spectacular event for our award winners every year. Approximately 150 dedicated advocates come together every year to help on the day of the gala with set-up and design, registration, auction areas, greeting and so much more. Day-of Volunteers positions will be posted online for sign-up in early February, 2018 on this page. Keep checking back for more information!
The Advisory Council includes members of both the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and YWCA Tulsa’s Board of Directors. This group works to ensure continuity between the shared missions of each organization and the award program and event.
The Selection Committee consists of nine volunteers – four from the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, four from YWCA Tulsa, and one tie-breaker that rotates between the two organizations every year – to score each nomination submitted for the award, determining the top 10 scores and naming a new class of winners each Spring.
